Description

Can you survive a post apocalyptic world with limited resources in Last Shelter: Survival?

You are in a desert, surrounded by zombies. Your introduction to the game was learning how to build defense guns to keep those monsters away. The game fast forwards to a week later and Nick breaks in with his Commander with a tank. They find the base and save Ada, who taught you how to defend the base earlier on. Once you find her, she will guide you to building important structures to hold against zombie hoards.

Once you keep the zombies out of the fence, it is time to start a new civilization. You are now in need of resources like power, food and water. On the top screen are the resources you have on hand. Wheat is for food, water, lightning represents power, lumber and money in cash. At the bottom are the population, your experience points and gems. Gems are the premium currency you can use to speed things up or buy resources in a pinch.

The wrench icon is your construction worker, and you can have two workers maximum without paying for more initially. Once you build the wall to keep the zombies away, you have a new problem. More options like the menu will appear on the bottom right. Tap on the build to see what you can build, and you do not need to wait for Ada to tell you.

Each building requires resources, it will not go ahead if your men are not free to build it. When you place a building on land, it requires road access. On the bottom left is your task at hand, each a small part that feeds to the story. Once you finish each chapter, you get rewards to help build your base.

Your aim in Last Shelter is to safely expand your base and protect it from zombie invasions. But once you have a strong base, you will need to join the alliance to share resources. As this is a post apocalyptic world, other people can attack you to steal your resources. You will need to build houses to keep people, then train soldiers and shooters to defend your base.

Remember those defense towers? Once you rebuild your tower, you can start defending your base again. Buy towers with defense points, merging the same guns to create a stronger gun. Place the guns on sites for them to shoot at incoming zombies. There are 4 types of guns: machine gun, cannon tower, electromagnetic tower, and flamethrower. Construction fragments will let you buy more powerful guns, while site fragments open up another spot for them. To return to the base, tap on the blue icon on the top left.

Since the zombies do not give up, you have to keep on top of things. Fortunately, you have a special stereo that attracts zombies for the soldiers to shoot them. The stereo then cools down for a while. But you need more than cash to build a base.

How to play

Keep an eye out of your resources as you build and strengthen your town. Remember to upgrade your Base to get better upgrades and more space in the depot. There is a balance between building your new structures and upgrading the current ones. You have only 2-3 workers and you have to decide which is more important. Of course, there are speed ups in the game without using gems. Use the speed ups wisely as they are not easy to come by.

Keep training your shooters and exiles to build up a decent army for the future, and a hospital to treat the injured. Follow instructions of the mission to allow you to keep reaping the rewards. If you are not confident, slow down on the Town Hall upgrade while you accumulate soldiers and food.

Playing defense tower helps you gain some resources in boxes, which you can keep until you need them. They are a good source when you need to build and upgrade, but your base is running low. Open them as needed, and avoid opening all as you may waste the rest because your depot cannot keep that many.

Being a commander in a world full of zombies is not an easy task: you need to pay attention to every detail. There is no time limit to the tasks, but they still need to be done. Last Shelter: Survival tests your planning skills to the limit. Share your tips in the comment area below so that more people can like the game.
